Everything about certification

What is LibrePower Certification?

A three-tier validation program for open source and commercial software on IBM Power Systems. We test on real Power hardware — AIX, IBM i, and Linux ppc64le — and certify it compiles, runs, and performs optimally.

Which platforms and processors are supported?

IBM AIX, IBM i (PASE), and Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, SUSE) on ppc64le. Infrastructure includes Power8, Power9, and Power10 systems plus Docker/container validation.

How much does certification cost?

Tier 1 is free for open source. Tier 2 and 3 pricing varies — contact contact@sixe.es for a quote.

How long does the process take?

Tier 1: 1–2 weeks. Tier 2: 2–4 weeks. Tier 3: 4–8 weeks depending on complexity.

Do I need IBM hardware to apply?

No. Submit your source code or container image and we handle the rest on our POWER8/9/10 infrastructure.

What is ppc64le?

ppc64le (PowerPC 64-bit Little Endian) is the architecture for modern IBM Power processors. Software untested on ppc64le may have endianness issues or missing optimizations that certification will catch.
